Gonna be wedging a 96 grand am. should i notch still or no?
I will never notch a grand am, cavy, etc. again. Luminas and celbs i would.
Tuck, pre-bend, and run the rear bumper high....JMO
it was rolled, rear is messed up a little so thought id try a wedge. laying the trunk in flat and welding it up.
also when tucking weld it if you can helps rear from pulling apart
I ran a few gran-am and many other chev compact car and i always notch them and pre-bent if not it will go down on you, like many of the newer full size chev. I wouldnt weld to much on the back end, i always had good result with bolting the trunk lid with 10x 3/8 bolts that way it folds real nice. If you do what i said i wouldnt flaten the trunk.
Be careful wedging a compact without any frame reinforcments, leaf springs, or other mods or they will go down instead of rolling in like previously stated.

already beat and flattened the trunk lid as it was real messed up. had to run it over a few to get it started to go flat. it has 9 bolys in it to hold it together. couldnt beat to flatten cuz it was almost apart. putting a few more bolts in it. 4 all thread threw frame after its welded in and a few other bolts to hold it all tight.
