Great Video!
I really enjoyed this video
Honestly another garbage video. This sport will never get the recognition with out showing what really goes into them. Not just some redneck way of dropping in a random engine. How about a series that shows the REAL money that goes into them, the drivetrains, the protectors, etc, etc.

In all honesty a video showing the thousands upon thousands you can spend on a car and still not win would be a terrible thing to show to the average Joe interested in derbying. It would drive newcomers away....I mean lets say you were starting off 100% fresh, if you saw how much some of the drive trains and parts cost(hell even what some MM quality cars cost), right off the bat it would probably make you second guess yourself and not go for it. If these shows give the impression that people can go out and spend a few hundred dollars to go derby, I think it gives people a feeling that anyone can do it.
Sure they should show a few big events to show both sides of the sport and what goes into it, but I don't think they should put too much of an emphasis on how much money goes into it.
As to the protectors, etc., etc., a lot of it was just getting "big" in the early to mid 2000's when this was taped.
I enjoyed the video and thank you for posting. Very good video that both a veteran driver and someone that has never even watched a derby can both enjoy. Yes they did not show the thousands of dollars than can and does get dropped into a derby car. But just remember, not all drivers drop thousands into their cars.
Later,
Rusty
That was awesome, thanks for posting this.
Well i thought this was a newer video lol> where im coming from is that the nation has this "redneck" look on the sport, and if they showed the development that is in the sport it might give a different outlook on the sport
PRIME EXAMPLE OF WHY THE "XDDL" DIED, JEFF JAMES SAID " THESE GUY CRY AND WHINE AND SAY THEY WONT EVER COME BACK, BUT THEY ALWAYS DO"...... WRONG....MAKE THAT ASSUMPTION, AND YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY CARS COME DERBY DAYS. DRIVERS NEED TO FEEL LIKE THEY ARE HEARD, AND THEIR DEMANDS CAN BE ACCOMODATED , OTHERWISE....NO SHOW...... VIDEO WAS GOOD, NOW HOW CAN I STRANGLE MIKE DOYLE FOR RUINING THAT $400.00 ROOF RACK ON THE WAGON AND PEELING TRIM OFF WITH A PRYBAR?? AAAGGGGRRRRHHHH!!!! HEARD HE IS PROMOTING NOW, NO MORE DRIVING......
I DIDNT SEE ANY "SMART DRIVING" THERE, JUST CARNAGE.... THANK GOD.....
