Does anyone know the Crank torque specs? i can find every one but the mains for some reason... thanks
What year of block?
I'm taking for granted that you are working on the ohc lima 2.3 found in pintos, stangs, etc. If so the spec is 50-60ft-lbs is the first step then 80-90ft-lbs final step.
77 stang 2.3. and i finally found them too. thanks everyone....
i have a motor out of 84 stang and was just curious as to what you guys on here would recommend for a mild build on one of these motors the motor currently has 88,000 miles on it so im thinking pull it apart and hone it out a little but not sure what other direction to take with it any help would be greatly appreciated
depends alot on your budget. port and polish, solid lifters, better cam and carb. .030 over is about what everyone one does these days cause circle track parts are everywhere!
i have herd of quite a few people that shave the head down a little but dont know how far to take that any idea for that?
where do you get an adapter plate for putting a 2 bbl motorcraft on a regular intake, and is it the same for a tbi intake that you only use that one bottom part of?
ttt
nope not the same the efi adapter can be bought from esslinger and the one i think your talking about is this one?http://www.holley.com/17-43.asp

ok im not sure if this will work so let me know. my phone will not upload the video to youtube. but this i a video of my 2.3/
Whats all done to it?
guess it worked??? everything!!! i put $3250 in it. stock crank worked over , .030 over srp forged pistons, chromoly rods, all arp bolts, isky cam, solid lifters, doubled springs, cam tower straps, shaved the head, esslinger intake, holley 500 built up, msd, pro comp dist, msd wires, new tensioner, billet intermediate shaft, i know im pro missing stuff. the video does no justice what so ever.
Sounds like quite the set up. Im building mine similar but a little less extreme
got to drill and tap tranny then get my slider in and i can drive it!!
Do you guys replace the stock distributor ? My 1980 pinto as like 3 wires going to the distributor and i was wondering if i can get something different. thanks
Just got a 2.3 in a foxbody i bought today. Plan on keeping it fuel injected while its in the mustang but i need to make it carberated for when i put it in my pinto.
I need to know what all i need to convert it over. I obviously know i need a carb, intake, and a distributor, but what years and so on? What should i look for.
The engine is a 92 and has coil packs. Do all these 2.3 engines have the hole in the block for a distributor?
Thanks
should have the spot for distributer. carb, intake, distributer, durespark box, coil, oil pump, oil pan, motor mounts, thats all i can think of right now. i have most of that laying around if your interested. mustangs are rear sump and pintos are front sump. thats y the oil shit
Any1 know if there's any difference between the cam and aux cam gear?
aux cam drives distributer and mech fuel pump
I mean is there any difference between the gear sprockets that bolt on to them.
