got a 75 toronado with a 403 and bad tranny. then i got a good tranny out of a 76 eldo that had a 500. do these trannys interchange they look similar

Yes they will interchange. The differential may have different ratios between the two but they both will suck. Brackets mounting them to the engine and the rear mount plate are also different but it will all transfer between the two.
