Mid 60's Fords are king right now.  Nothing wrong with the late 60's-mid 70's Dodges either.   If your going to build one, get a 3/4 ton. 

personally i would take a 60s or 70s ih but they are alot harder to find.

Not here in MN they aren't. They're tough too but the Dodges usually are on top

Yes the 60s dodges are on top but it don't make them the best or the strongest, it's the fact all the buddy's around here run em together, look what won mayhem trucks, a bunch of fords from mn, or winter slam last week, same 60sford that took mayhem

i may have found a tough chevy frame. im hoping just need a tahoe body to start building it. its a 58 chevy apache frame. its straight as an aroow and rust free.

Yeah those r identical to the ford 1 tons, very nice n straight frames

what about the 99 and up f350 4x4 frames...they are straight and even boxed in the front...i would guess theyd be solid right?

Never heard of a tough Chevy truck frame... I in the process of building a superduty frame right now. Looks tough. It needs some tweaks in the front though.

never seen anyone trying to derby a 58 apache either. they are really hard to come by. i was lucky enough toget the whole rolling chassi from an offroading buddy.

A 1958 ford has a stock leaf spring front end that looks tough
