i got a 91 chevy cavalier RS its to a 2.2 throttle body injection. the fuel line go from the tank and to the throttle body. do i just cut the line at the throttle body and put my fuel line to it from my bout tank
I didnt think they made a 2.2 back then, 2.5 was the norm, Maybe they did. What are you going to do for the pump?
I see so you swapped the throttle body over.
i am taking the pump out of the car tank and i am going to put in my bout tank
no i am going to keep it in the car i have never ran a chevy cavalier in a demo just ford tempos on a tempo they unplug and you have like 3" line to put your fuel line on to it but the chevy the dont unplug you have to cut or undo the meltal fittings and go find new fittings for it i just need to no if i cut the line at the throttle body is it still going to run when i move the pump in side the car
Im sure it would providing you can hook up to the existing feed line, Like you said. And if the pump was in the boat tank It wouldnt know the difference from the stock location. Do you have to run a return line on these setups, Or was there no return from the factory?, Seems like there should be a return.
they are a 2.2 they to my knoklegde never put 2.5 in a cavi just 2.0,2.2 2.4 ,2.8 and 3.1and yea ull need a return line and suply line , its pretty simple real easy
i know i have to have a return its a 2.2 do u know what fuel line i should use like 60psi or can i use any fuel line work
PMMaster you are correct. I would say you could use the high pressure rubber, But steel would be safer In my opinion though I do consider myself a worry wart having been on fire a few times In my life. Just use some rubber for the connections.
i used to use copper with short pieces of regular fuel line between conections , ,now i use just regular rubber all the way , i run them over the dash and use spray foam where they go under hood , i never had a problem in 4 years of doing it
ive ran 6 cavys with the 2.2. i take out the glove box and heater blower motor and that alows you to route your fuel lines in a safe place. just cut the metal lines at the motor and hook up your fuel line there with a 2 clamps holding it on. pretty easy setup
